A Quality Control System for Storage Racks from Raw Material to Delivery

news 14

The reliability and service life of storage racks stem from strict quality control throughout the entire process, from raw material rolling to finished product delivery. The full intelligent manufacturing process of storage racks shown in the pictures covers every link, including steel raw materials, roll forming, precision stamping, surface treatment, and finished product delivery. With a standardized, automated, and digital production system, we provide safe, stable, and durable storage equipment for customers.

I. Raw Material Control: Establishing a Solid Quality Foundation from the Source

High-quality racks start with premium raw materials. We have established a strict raw material access and inspection system:

  • Selected Base Materials Core raw materials adopt high-quality Q235B/Q355B cold-rolled steel strips, tested by authoritative national institutions. Key mechanical indicators such as yield strength and elongation exceed industry standards, providing a solid strength foundation for rack structures.
  • Raw Material Preprocessing After entering the factory, steel strips undergo preprocessing including leveling, straightening, and rust removal to ensure smooth surfaces without scale or oil stains, creating an ideal base for subsequent roll forming and electrostatic spraying. Meanwhile, a raw material batch traceability system is established, allowing each steel coil to be traced back to the steel mill furnace number.
  • Mechanical Performance Testing Each batch of raw materials is sampled for tensile, bending, impact, and other mechanical tests to ensure uniform material and stable performance, eliminating potential safety hazards such as rack deformation or fracture caused by raw material defects.

II. Intelligent Manufacturing: Automated Production Ensures Precision and Consistency

We adopt automated production lines and digital control to achieve high-precision and high-efficiency manufacturing of rack components:

  • Roll Forming Technology Core components such as uprights and beams are formed in one pass by high-precision cold roll forming lines, with hole position accuracy controlled within ±0.5mm. They feature excellent cross-sectional mechanical properties and outstanding bending and torsion resistance. The production line is equipped with an online inspection system to monitor dimensional deviations in real time, ensuring consistency of every component.
  • Precision Stamping and Welding A 200-ton high-precision press with an automatic feeding system completes precision processing of holes and stiffeners. Combined with robotic automatic welding technology, welds are uniform and full without insufficient or missing welding, with connection strength exceeding 120% of design requirements.
  • Surface Treatment Process Components undergo multiple processes including shot blasting derusting, phosphating, and epoxy resin electrostatic spraying. The coating has strong adhesion and salt spray resistance ≥ 1000 hours, enabling long-term use in industrial environments with humidity or dust and effectively extending rack service life.

III. Process Control: Full-Link Quality Traceability and Lean Management

From production to delivery, we have established a full-link quality control system:

  • In-Process Inspection Inspection points are set for each production process. Professional inspectors conduct 100% full inspection on dimensions, appearance, welding quality, etc., with unqualified products prohibited from entering the next process. Key processes are equipped with online inspection devices to realize automatic data collection and abnormal warning.
  • Finished Product Assembly Testing Finished racks undergo simulated assembly testing to verify key indicators such as upright verticality, beam horizontality, and load capacity, ensuring zero errors and efficient delivery during on-site installation. Meanwhile, static and dynamic load simulation tests are conducted to verify rack stability under extreme working conditions.
  • Digital Traceability All components are assigned unique identifiers. The MES system realizes full-process traceability from raw materials, production, inspection to delivery. Customers can query the production history and inspection report of each product at any time, ensuring transparent and traceable quality.

IV. Delivery and Service: Efficient Support from Factory to Site

With a professional delivery and service system, we ensure products are delivered to customer sites efficiently and safely:

  • Packaging and Protection Finished components adopt multi-layer protective packaging including moisture-proof films and wooden pallets to avoid collision and rust during transportation. Small accessories are sealed in special turnover boxes to ensure zero loss and zero damage.
  • Logistics and Installation A national logistics network is established to formulate accurate delivery plans based on customer project progress. The professional installation team provides one-stop services including on-site survey, solution optimization, installation and commissioning to ensure the rack system is put into use quickly.
  • After-Sales Operation and Maintenance Lifelong operation and maintenance services are provided, including annual structural inspection, bolt tightening, coating maintenance, etc. Through remote monitoring and on-site response, we promptly solve customer usage problems and ensure long-term stable operation of the rack system.

From strict raw material selection, to precise control of intelligent manufacturing, to full-process quality traceability and professional service, we focus on “full-link quality control” to create safe, efficient, and durable storage rack systems for customers. This is not only a commitment to product quality, but also a solid guarantee for customers’ storage safety and efficiency.
